This archive consists of photographs and letters collected by Cpl. John P. Papp during and after his service as a member of the 10th Infantry Division Band from 1949 to 1952. Included are 66 mostly black and white photos (mostly 5x7, with a few 8x10 and 4x6) that are mostly of band members in military uniform. Other images include members in civilian dress, playing instruments, and with their (presumed personal) late 40s/early 50s cars. Socolofsky and Dean: 3590. Volumes bound in 3/4 leather with marbled paper boards that are now worn with heavy rubbing at the edges. Both volumes have the usual ex-library markings from the Topeka and Shawnee County Public Library. Both volumes have had heavy mylar taped over the spine covers and clear tape reinforcement to the internal hinges. The text blocks of both volumes are strained with a few pages pulled from the stitching but both remain otherwise sound.
